The Hilton Helsinki Strand Hotel is housed in an imposing 8-storey corner building, clad in Finnish bean stone and marble. Making distinctive use of granite and more marble, the bright, spacious lobby is populated by specially commissioned glass sculptures and constructed around a soaring atrium festooned with plants. Conceived by some of Finland's best interior design talents, the 192 guestrooms are decorated with local designs, including traditional weaving and Finnish parquet floors. Some rooms are equipped for people with disabilities and others are reserved for non-smokers. All are clean and in excellent condition, as are the en suite bathrooms, which also feature heated floors. The hotel’s elegant Restaurant Bridges, located in the Atrium, invites guests to savour delicacies from both Finland and the rest of the world, while the bright and elegant Atrium Lounge is the perfect place for a light snack, a pint of beer or a hot cappuccino. Both command lovely views of the bay.
